Football Finds

Two of my three boys are currently playing Youth Tackle Football.  This has become a regular delight for me.  We’ve found a community, friends, activity and entertainment all from this activity we are truly all enjoying as a family.  Practice three nights a week and two games on the weekend is a lot, but the positives it brings are worth it.

Currently the weather is starting to cool down, so sitting on the fields, filled with over 300 players, in addition to coaches and families we get to see the sunset each night.  We usually have clear skies and it feels nice to sit outside surrounded by it all and to be a part of something.  After so much isolation in the last 18+ months due to Covid, we have jumped back into being social with the added bonus of the boys opportunity to enjoy their favorite sport.

The grass fields, listening to cheer practice from across the fields, coaches yelling and kids laughing or cheering each other on.  The roughness of the sports has worried me but the coming together of so many with a shared passion is what I’m focused on now.  That’s a positive that outweighs most negatives right now.
